In today's fiercely competitive environment, firms are increasingly relying on loyalty programs to influence customers' repeat purchase behavior. However, little is known about how customers' cultural values shape their satisfaction in response to loyalty programs. Such knowledge is important because it allows marketers to identify cultural segments that may be more or less likely to respond favorably to loyalty programs, and hence increase the effectiveness of such programs. In the current research, we propose that power distance perception — defined as the extent to which people observe power disparities in society — positively influences satisfaction of customers who hold loyalty status, but negatively influences satisfaction of customers who do not hold loyalty status with a firm. In contrast, power distance values — defined as the extent to which people endorse power disparities in society — negatively influences satisfaction of customers who hold loyalty status, but positively influences satisfaction of customers who do not hold loyalty status with a firm. A quasi-field study and several lab experiments support these propositions, shed light on the underlying mechanisms, and rule out alternative explanations. Our findings also uncover several distinct tools that marketers could use to influence non-loyalty status and loyalty status customers' satisfaction with businesses. 相似文献

This paper proposes a multivariate distance nonlinear causality test (MDNC) using the partial distance correlation in a time series framework. Partial distance correlation as an extension of the Brownian distance correlation calculates the distance correlation between random vectors X and Y controlling for a random vector Z. Our test can detect nonlinear lagged relationships between time series, and when integrated with machine learning methods it can improve the forecasting power. We apply our method as a feature selection procedure and combine it with the support vector machine and random forests algorithms to study the forecast of the main energy financial time series (oil, coal, and natural gas futures). Where a lengthy period is available for the choice of tourist destination, people’s tendency to change their minds can be pronounced. This makes the investigation of preference (in)consistency of great interest. Here, we integrate construal level theory (CLT) with mind-set theory, for the first time, to explore the moderating effect of an internal factor (i.e. mind-set) on preference shifts from desirable to feasible attributes over time. The results of four choice experiments suggest that, compared with people with a satisficing mind-set, people with a maximizing mind-set are reluctant to sacrifice desirability for feasibility, which counters the inclination to alter preferences as the decision time approaches. Furthermore, we found that different preference patterns between maximizers and satisficers are not connected to desirability but result from maximizers’ consistency in placing less importance on feasibility. 从地理经济学视角分析审计师的地理区位特征对上市公司股价信息含量的可能影响,利用2004—2013年中国A股上市公司的数据,实证检验了审计师与客户间的地理距离对客户公司股价信息含量的经验影响关系,并进一步考察了证券分析师与审计监督两种中介组织间的交互效应。研究发现:(1)审计师与客户公司间的地理距离越小,客户公司的股价信息含量越低,因为在中国当前经济社会背景下,地理邻近对审计师独立性的消极影响要强于其对审计师专业胜任能力的积极影响,这导致审计师审计质量降低,影响客户公司股价信息含量;(2)证券分析师对客户公司的关注程度越高,审计师的地理邻近性对客户公司股价信息含量的负面影响越弱,表明证券分析师与外部审计之间主要呈现一种相互替代的关系,证券分析师可以作为一种有效的补充监督机制。 相似文献

This paper introduces a new model that differentiates between controllable and uncontrollable bad outputs in the measurement of firm performance; the airline industry is used as the empirical example. The model allows us to measure technical inefficiency, as well as the inefficiency in the production of bad outputs, and the inefficiency in the investments allocated to the reduction of uncontrollable bad outputs. Moreover, we provide a direct measure of the total cost of controllable bad outputs. As the model involves a number of latent (unobservable) variables that cannot be easily integrated out of the likelihood function without producing complicated expressions, we resort to Bayesian techniques. We find notable differences in inefficiency across airlines. More importantly though, we find that the production of bad or undesirable outputs impose significant costs on airlines. However, these cost issues could be reduced if airlines invest more in maintenance and service training. 相似文献

In this paper, we estimate the effect of “cultural distance” on bilateral trade in services. The measure of cultural distance we use is based on scores that reflect country averages of individuals’ attitudes towards inequality, self-orientation, competition, uncertainty, traditions, and indulgence. Controlling for standard ingredients of gravity equations, we show that an aggregate measure of cultural distance has a significantly negative effect on total bilateral services trade. Once we take a more disaggregate view, we find that the strength of this effect differs across various types of services and various aspects of cultural distance. 相似文献

The reduction of non-performing loans, and making correct provisions for them, plays a primary role in the management and minimization of banking credit risk. However, these actions depend primarily upon the cost at which banks may dispose of these bad loans. Hence, this study aims to perceive the price of banks’ credit risk via estimating the shadow price of non-performing loans. We assess and compare the perceived price of the credit risk of Islamic and conventional banks operating in 9 countries from the Middle East and Asia, using a quadratic directional distance function. Following this, we evaluate the impact of different settings of directional vectors on shadow prices by conducting a risk-sensitivity analysis. Applying bootstrap regression, the factors affecting NPLs’ prices are further investigated. The paper concludes that the estimation of the shadow prices of bad loans can provide important elements in favor of credit risk management and, therefore, credit risk mitigation. 相似文献

为解决位置指纹定位在离线阶段构建位置指纹库时耗费的人力和时间成本较大,构建指纹库效率低和利用空间插值法构建的指纹库精度不高的问题,提出了一种融合反距离加权和矩阵填充的位置指纹库构建算法。该算法仅需人工采集定位区域内少量参考点的接收信号强度值用作信标点指纹信息,结合反距离加权算法特性计算出次信标点指纹信息,根据位置指纹库数据矩阵的低秩性,应用奇异值阈值矩阵填充算法构建出位置指纹数据库。仿真实验结果表明,所提算法有效降低了矩阵填充算法构建位置指纹库所需的人工和时间成本,构建出的位置指纹库定位性能优于反距离加权和克里金空间插值法,接近传统人工采集法,显著地提高了位置指纹库的构建效率。 相似文献
